Understanding Trauma & Recovery

Introduction

Research increasingly shows links between trauma and adversity and the full range of mental health difficulties. How can mental health services be developed that are sensitive to addressing this? This workshop involves interactive exercises and personal stories of recovery.

Aims
The aim of this workshop is to explore the link between emotional trauma and mental health problems and introduce holistic approaches to treatment and recovery from trauma.

Who is this course for?
Suitable for anyone wishing to make sense of trauma and recovery process experience, including mental health/social services professionals, psychotherapists and counsellors, voluntary sector workers, trauma victims and survivors, their friends and family.
